Preparing parents for the formation of their child’s faith. This ministry helps to prepares parents, godparents and families for the responsibilities and commitments in Baptism for infants and children. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance.

The Combined Ministry Council, otherwise known as the Pastoral Council, is a volunteer organization made up of the ministry captains who preside over the various ministries groups listed above. They are chosen by the members of the ministries under their umbrella and serve as an advisory group to our pastor for a period of three years. The council’s primary responsibility is guiding the spiritual direction of the parish by supporting our ministries and implementing programs that advance the spiritual wellbeing of all members of our parish community. This ministry began by providing receptions after funerals as a way of assisting grieving families in a time of emotional need. We have since expanded to include receptions after First Communion, Confirmation and to celebrate those entering the Church on Easter Vigil. Food is provided by our ministry members but donations often cover our expenses. A manual is available for training. We are looking for people who are compassionate and friendly and like to cook! The Marriage Prep Team meets with engaged couples to prepare them for the commitment of marriage by looking closely at Catholic teaching and their personal experience. Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.
We are the church members that give the first impression to new and visiting Catholics at our parish Liturgies as well as warm and friendly greetings at our parish events. Our purpose is to make sure that first impression is kind and welcoming. We assist new members with any questions they may have and direct them to the appropriate contacts for their needs. We are looking for reliable, warm, and friendly people. Training is offered through the parish and the diocese.
Rite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments.
RCIA provides an opportunity for non-Catholics to RCIA explore the teachings of the Catholic Church while giving baptized Catholics an opportunity to complete their sacramental preparations for First Communion and Confirmation. It is a basic inquiry program open to anyone who has an interest in discovering the truths of our Catholic faith and wants to learn more about Catholic tradition, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Sacred Scripture. The Religious Education program offers catechetical instruction for our children and youth from kindergarten through high school. The program includes preparation for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. Volunteers need not have a background in education. Our teachers are trained through the Diocese with workshops offered throughout the year, and here at St. Frances X. Cabrini. The “Safe Environment” course and a background check are required. Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.
The purpose of this ministry is to provide regular parish hospitality. It gives us a chance to get to know one another better and get acquainted with new members. We have a pancake breakfast the fourth Sunday of each month from 10:00 to 12 noon, after the 9:30 Mass. We meet once a month an hour before the start of the breakfast. The fundraising committee takes the leadership role in all parish fundraising endeavors. These include the Spaghetti Dinner, Taco Dinner, St. Patrick’s Day Party, St. Frances Cabrini Birthday barbeque, and many other worthy undertakings. Proceeds benefit the parish and its wider interests. We always need volunteers! Everyone is encouraged to sign up for this important ministry.
